Smoke Signals staff writer
Being featured in Smoke Sig
nals can have some positive side
benefits.
That's what Tribal Elder Dorothy
"Dottie" Greene discovered after
being prominently featured in the
March 15 edition.
"My mouth was wide open," said
Greene, when she received a note
from Oregon Secretary of State
Kate Brown. "I couldn't speak for
a few minutes."
Brown has been a longtime friend
of the Tribe and currently serves on
the Spirit Mountain Community
Fund Board of Trustees.
Brown's note, attached to a copy
of the March 15 issue of Smoke
Signals, referred to Greene's Elder
Feature, which told her life story.
"What a wonderful article in Smoke
Signals," Brown wrote. Thanks for
sharing your story. Kate B."
"It made me feel so good," Greene
said. "I thought, my dear Lord,
what an honor."
Likewise from the writer, yours
truly. B
