Dear Smoke Signal
We would like to thank the Confoderated Tribes of Grand Rondo Tribal
Council for their help with the funeral and funeral luncheon in the passing
of our mother, Delorea I. Good. Your generosity and kindness warmed our
hearts and touched our lives.
We would like to thank our fellow Tribal members for their e-mails,
cards, phone calls, support and prayers. Your caring thoughts and sincere
concern brought comfort and healing.
May the Lord bless you all.

Dear Smoke Signals:
We, as a Tribe, need to come together to make sure our ordinances and
Constitution are not being changed to benefit a few. No ordinance can be
changed without going through the proper channels. Then the final change
will be our votes.
If our Constitution has been breached, then us, as Tribal members, need
to make sure it is put back to the original state.

Dear Smoke Signals:
The Northwest Native American Club of Chemeketa is doing a benefit
to raise money for the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. A winter storm hit
the reservation in January and more than 9,000 Tribal members and sur
rounding non-Native neighbors were affected.
We are asking if there are any vendors interested in supporting the
Cheyenne River Sioux relief, which will be held at Chemeketa Community
College in the new quad on June 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Litefoot will
be performing at 3 p.m. We would like to get at least 10 vendors to come
and show the work they do. There will be a $25 fee for tables. Please, no
food vendors.
Jeremy Bailey
Northwest Native Club President
