There will be a choice of legends that say Native Vet or specify the service branch or the theater of war. More vendors have booked more spaces for the powwow than in the past, Tinney says. "We've been working with them since January," he says. On Friday night, Tribal member and Young Warrior Peter Nelson will conduct a youth giveaway as he ends his service to the Grand Konde Veterans Honor Guard. Family giveaways also will be a part of this year's Veterans' Pow wow. On Saturday night, during the dinner break, the family of Tribal Elder Tom Bean will hold a give , away in his honor. Also on Saturday night, as tradi tion dictates, Tribal member Dietz Peters and his wife, Hose, who are Headman and Hcadwoman dancers for the Veterans Powwow, will hold a Traditional Men's Special dance and Women's Special dance.
