Gates Millennium Scholarship applications Gates Millennium Scholarships are open to all high school seniors, as well as high school and GED graduates, who will begin classes Fall 2009. You must be Native American, African American, Asian American or Latino to apply. This scholarship pays for 100 percent of unmet need for college for up to nine years. The Native American Congressional Internship Program is a 10-week summer internship in Washington, D.C, for Native American and Alaska Native undergraduate, graduate and law students. Students are placed in Congressional Offices, committees or select agencies to experience an insider's view of the federal government and learn more about the federal government's trust relationship with Tribes. The Foundation provides round-trip airfare, housing, per diem and a $1,200 educational stipend. Applications must be received at the Foundation by Jan. 30, 2009. Udall Scholarship Program The Udall Scholarship Program awards 80 $5,000 merit-based scholar ships for college sophomores and juniors seeking a career in Tribal health. Tribal public policy or the environment. Scholarship recipients participate in a five-day orientation in Tucson, Ariz., to learn more about Tribal and environmental issues. Wal-Mart scholarship - -applications now available The following scholarships are offered through the Wal-Mart Foundation: The Sam Walton Community Scholarship: A $3,000 college scholarship available to graduating seniors with at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and demonstrated financial need. The Wal-Mart Associate Scholarship: A $3,000 college scholarship available to Wal-Mart associates or dependents of associates who are graduating seniors with at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and a demonstrated financial need. The Wal-Mart Higher Reach Scholarship: Provides a college scholarship up to $3,000 to Wal-Mart associates who have been out of school for at least one year. Scholarship Program administered by the Wal-Mart Foundation: On behalf of the Walton Family Foundation, the Wal-Mart Foundation administers the Walton Family Foundation Scholarship. The Walton Family Foundation Scholarship is a $13,000 scholarship paid out over four years. Applicants must be dependents of Wal-Mart associates, have at least a 22 ACT or 1030 SAT (Critical Reading Math) and prove financial need. For more information or to apply, visit www.walmartfoundation.org. $200 Youth Sponsorships available to all CTGR youth The Youth Sponsorship is available to any enrolled CTGR youth cur rently in grades K-12. CTGR Youth Sponsorship can only be used one time per calendar year (Jan. 1 to Dec. 31). The amount of the sponsorship is for, but not to exceed, $200. The sponsorship can be used to pay for but not limited to any Cultural, Educational or Athletic program or activity with proper documentation. Eligibility Guidelines: 1. Youth must be an enrolled CTGR Tribal member. 2. Youth must be currently attending school or an alternative form of certified and recognized educational program. 3. Youth must be in grades kindergarten through 12th. Plcfle keep in mind that the Youth Sponsorship can take up to three weeks to process and we can only process complete applications.
