to this big world! Austin Ethan Sky Hawk Carrasco
was born on Friday, Oct. 1 2, 2007, at 7:45 p.m. He
weighed 9 lbs. 7 oz. and was 21.5 in long.
His parents are Fernando Carrasco and Angela
Schlappie. His siblings include Dakotah &
ChyAnne Schlappie and Alyssa & Celena Carrasco.
Proud Grandparent's are Peggy & Javier Briseno,
Robert Schlappie, Leonora Dominguez and Fernando Carrasco Sr.
Proud auntie is Priscilla Lopez and multiple cousins!

Former Grand Kon.de resident and
Grand Konde Tribal Klder Larry John
Quenelle of Salem died of natural
causes on Oct. 29 at his residence. He
was 60.
Mr. Quenelle was born Aug. 11, 1947,
in McMinnville to Tribal members
Leonard and Lizzette Quenelle. He
spent his youth in Grand Konde and
Salem. He later lived in California for
many years before returning to the
area in 1990.
I le worked in railroading and logging.
At one time, he worked as a profes
sional climber.
Mr. Quenelle loved horse racing and recently was a winner by
placing his money on Indian Blessing. He also enjoyed hunting,
woodcutting, growing tomatoes, participating in pow-wows and
watching Seattle Seahawks games.
He is survived by two sisters, Tribal members Evelyn "Toni"
Quenelle of Salem and Carol Williams of Siletz, and a brother, Donald
of Vancouver, Wash. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, in
1989, and son, Ivan, in 1994.
Burial services were held Nov. 3 at Grand Konde Tribal Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Bollman Funeral Home of Dallas.
