JUNE 15, 2007 Smoke Signals 1 1 LIBRARY HOURS: Monday - Friday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. (closed Monday - Friday 12 - 1 p.m.) Saturday: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Library Statistics for May: Issued three new library cards - had 561 visitors, 452 circulations, 265 donations and 125 com puter sign-ins during the 23 days of service. New additions to the collection Children & Young Adult: K-5 Program donated over 250 books to the Tribal Library for children & youth this month. Videos: Approximately 75 videos were donated during the . month of May. ' Upcoming Activities at the Tribal Library Summer Program: Reading Incentive-Program: June 1 -August 10 . , Register your childchildren & youth ages 4 -17, during June 1-15., Reading Incentive will begin at the time of registration and end August 10, Participants may earn prize incentives for each 15 minutes of reading and participants will be eligible to enter their name for a drawing for each book read at their level of reading. ' . ' Summer Program: Get A Clue! Begins July 2 and ends: - August 10 - Regional Libraries will participate in a regional summer pro gram theme "Get a Clue." The Tribal Library will participate with this theme along with the other Oregon libraries. Story and activity sessions are scheduled as follows: Kindergarten 3rd grade sessions: Thursdays: 2-3 p.m. 4th & 5th grade sessions: Thursdays: 3:304:30 p.m. July 5 Detect It! Super Sleuthing . Dazzling Disguises & Clever Costumes July 12 Detect It! Super Sleuthing Fingerprints July 19 Solve It! Cedes, Cipher's & Fizzles , Unbreakable Codes - July 26 Dig it Up! Mysteries from the Past Big Old Bones ..... Aug.2 Discover It! Science Mysteries Zoo In The Sky Aug. 9 Explain It! Real Lift Mysteries Purple is BestBigfoot - 6th - 8th grade sessions: Wednesdays: 3:30 4:30 p.m. (July 11, 18, 25 and August 1 & 8) . Story and activity sessions will focus on investigative journ aling. Each week the participant will enter information about descriptions, clues and evidence as they try to solve a series of mysteries based on above themes. 9 - 12 grade sessions: Tuesdays: 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. (July 10, 17, 24, 31 and Aug. 7) Sessions will include a Mystery Movie, Readers Theater, Mag net Poem Contest, a Mystery Dinner, Super Sleuthing Scavenger Hunt, and a Family Night event. The Tribal Library will host a Mystery Movie time during the noon hour on Monday and Tuesday at the Youth Education Center for youth in grades 6 - 12. Sessions will be held July 9 & 10; 16 & 17; 23 & 24; 30 & 31 and August 6 & 7. Book Club: Will not be held during the months of July & August Poetry Recital Reading: months of July & August.
