By Kristen Ravia On Monday, April 17, Tribal employees put on their walking shoes and began the 100-Mile Walking Challenge sponsored by the Tribe's Human Resources Department. Eleven employees and three teams participated. Only one team had a name and they were known as the "Dental Divas." The Walking Challenge ended Friday, September 8, when every employee and team had to turn in their personal tracking calendars to the Human Resources Department by 5 p.m. The 11 employees walked 5,011 miles. The employees that participated and miles walked were: Donnette Spauld ing: 887, Shelia Blacketer: 584, Linda Mann: 441, Jill Hafliger: 501, Joan Englund: 429, Lindy Jerik: 353, Lillian Engel: 265, Linda Henry: 611, Michelle Sweeney: 686, Joann Carr: 152 and Steve O'Harra: 102. On Thursday, September 14, an awards ceremony at the Youth Educa tion covered area honored top walker Donnette Spaulding and the team the "Dental Divas."
