Hudson has aged gracefully, helping folks all along the way. By Ron Karten At 81, Tribal Elder Herman K. Hudson is a modest man. Or as he puts it, "I'm not a celebrity or anything like that." In fact, he's more than a celebrity to his daughter and Tribal Elder Kathryn Bell. "Oh, my daddy!" she said over the phone from Redmond, Washington. "He's the sweetest man in the whole world." She said she wanted to email some of her memories "because I'll cry when I start thinking about him." "He loved fishing," said his old est son, Tim, a Tribal member who lives in Boulder City, Nevada. "He used to drive my mom crazy when he went to a place called the Rock Pile. It's in the middle of Puget Sound, and he went by himself and worried her sick until he brought back an 80-pound halibut." "He helps just about anybody that needs help out there," said his uncle, Tribal Elder Gene Hudson, who lives in Salem. "He was always RJcutting people's hair who couldn't get around. He used to cut (Tribal Elder) Leonard Vivette's hair. And ! b. Tribal Elder Herman K. Hudson on the golf course. the same for (Tribal Elder) Tony George."
