' ' Dear Smoke Signals Staff, My heartfelt thank you for sending me your newspaper. Words cannot express how much I enjoy each issue and look forward to many more. When I finish reading it, I pass it along to my family and other Tribal members. We all enjoy it. Many thanks, Nita Johnson Dear Tribal members, Greetings to all of you from Alexandria, Virginia. Many of you have been wondering why I have moved back east again and I wanted to let all of you know why. There was just no refcl good job opportunities for me in Oregon and since Oregon's job economy was not so good and back east was better I made the very hard choice to move back east once again. Yes, it was a hard choice since my family lives in Grand Ronde and the surrounding area, but after the death of my beloved Grannie Goose it was just to hard for me to stay in Oregon any more. Since moving back east life has been very good to me and I have some good news to report. In a short time I achieved the rank of floor supervisor at McDonald's and I am in the process of becoming a manager. I also have earned several awards from McDonald's, 20 in a month, something which no employee has ever done. I am now up for the next McDonald's Olympics in 2008. This is where they open a special McDonald's at the Olympics for the athletes at the Olympic games and they send the 300 best of McDonald's employees out the entire world. I found out on March 28, 2006 that I am up for this special honor. This includes and all expenses paid trip and includes ac commodations. Well my friends, my brothers and sisters have a wonderful day.
