Dear Tribal members and Tribal Council, We all see that there might be a chance that there may be casinos built out of Portland, Oregon. Some of you are predicting we could go down as much as 40 of our profit. When I was down there the last time I talked to some of our workers and they said they believed we would have some percent less of our profits but we had enough people coming from all the towns around there. If we treat our customers right and ran our casino right our casino would still make a lot of money. If other casinos open up in the Portland area a few people might drive up there when it opens. But like us up here, we go to the casino that is closest to us. If you believe that we will be losing that much profit then why are we doing all this building and remodeling of our casino? This does not make sense to me. We should stop all this building and remodeling until we see how it is going to affect us. A Concerned Member Delores Knight Roll 340 Correction: In the March 1 issue, in the story about the new biog raphy of Tribal Elder Kathryn Harrison, we erred in calling Molalla Kate a Siletz Tribal member. She was not. According to Kathryn Harrison, she was eligible to be a Grand Ronde Tribal member, though she never enrolled in this Tribe. We regret the error.
