Smoke Signals Honored With White Buffalo Award For Excellence

Healing On Friday, May 20, the Smoke
Signal's staff was honored with the White Buffalo
Award presented by Medicine Winds News out of
Klamath Falls. Smoke Signal's staff received the
award at a pow-wow held in Oak Ridge. The
award was for setting an example of excellence
in journalism. Shoshone Medicine Man Corbin
Harney (above) was in attendance.

Northwest Computer Learning Center in Grand
Ronde offers the following training courses through
December 2005. If you are interested in any of them

All one day courses are $150, except the two day
"Intro to Access" which is $300. Eligible Tribal
members can apply to the Short Term Training
program for assistance with registration costs. Space is
limited to the first 15 who register.

ELDER ACTIVITIES
B July 15-16 Grand Ronde Elder Honor Day. We need your help on
several things (donations for door prizes, help setting up). Please call
Louise Coulson at 503-879-2678 or Pearl Mekemson at 503-879-2049. We
will invite the HeadStart kids to sing for us and are1 looking for a few
story tellers. On the night of the 15th, we will have a Garden Party.
