Smoke Signals 9 MAY 1, 2005 7 week Program July 6, 2005-August 19, 2005 $7.25 per hour Monday-Friday, 4 hours per day 8 a.m.-12 p.m. or 1 p.m. -5 p.m. Requirements: Enrolled Grand Ronde Tribal Youth between the ages of 14-17 years by July 6, 2004. Must be responsible, reliable and dedicated. Youth participating must be respectful of others, well man nered, positive attitude, good work ethic and willing to work as a team. Youth Education and Human Resources will be sponsoring a MAN DATORY meeting at the Adult Education Center, in Room 26 A & B. We will be assisting youth with the application process and give help ful tips on interviewing. We will also provide important information regarding the Summer Youth Employment Program. All interested youth must attend one of the following meet ings in order to participate in the program. PLEASE bring Photo ID AND Social Security card to the meeting. The Spirit Mountain Rodeo Board is accept ing applications for a position on the board. The vacant position is open to anybody interested in the sport of professional rodeo, or a certain aspect of planning and developing a good ro deo. The Natural Resources Department of The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, in cooperation with Oregon Youth Conservation Corps, seeks two youth crew leaders and 14 youth crew members for its Summer Youth Crew program. These positions are designed and funded for the purpose of providing enhanced opportunities for youth andor students. Youth Crew Leader F & W Intern $10.50-$13.00hour. Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Approximately 14 weeks, starting June 10, 2005 (flexible) Duties: Supervise and provide leadership to a seven-person summer youth work crew for eight weeks and assist the Fish & Wildlife Department for four to six weeks. Projects may include stream and riparian restora tionenhancement, trail and park maintenance and construction, Native vegetation plantings, habitat enhancement monitoring, and other natural resource and community projects. Qualifications: Desire to work with youth and in natural resources. Must be in good physical condition and be able to work in rugged outdoor terrain. Experience in the proper use of hand tools. Good communication skills. Requirements: Work boots, valid driver's license, safe driving record. Must successfully complete pre-employment background check and drug test. Youth Crew Member $7.75hour Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Approximately 7 weeks, starting J uly 5, 2005 Duties: Work as a member of a seven-person summer youth work crew. Youth crew projects may include stream restorationenhancement, trail and park maintenance, Native tree plantings, forest inventory work or other natural resource and community projects. Qualifications: Must be 16-19 years of age. Must have the ability or experience to safely and properly use hand tools. Must be in good physical condition and be able to work in rugged outdoor terrain. Interest or experi ence in natural resources related work helpful. Requirements: Furnish own work boots and successfully complete pre employment background check and drug test. Closing date: Friday, June 10, 2005. The Burial Fund is administrated by the Enrollment Office and will pay for funeral services for eligible individuals. The family may use the funeral home or mortuary of their choice and the Burial Fund will pay the funeral establishment directly, up to $5,000. The family is responsible for any amount exceeding $5,000. The Burial Fund provides a funeral reception benefit in the amount of $300, which is paid directly to a family member. The reception benefit may be used to purchase food for a family gathering, rental of church hall or other needs. WHO IS ELIGIBLE? All enrolled Tribal members, their parents, their children and spouses are eligible. Adopted children are eligible, but adoption papers must be provided. All other relationships must be documented (such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, ect.). WHO DO WE CONTACT WHEN THEE IS A DEATH IN THE FAMILY? You may contact Margo Mercier or Sharon Grout of the Enrollment Office. You will be asked to provide a family member's name and address to send the reception benefit to. You will also be asked to have the funeral home contact us, so we can verify the amount to be paid and documentation needed to submit a payment request.
