6 NOVEMBER 15, 2004 Smoke Signals Spirit Mountain Casino Dealer's School On-Call Poker and Table Games Dealers All classes will begin on January 2, 2005 and will be conducted in the Gaming Training Room at the casino on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday each week. Table Games 9 a.m. -1 p.m. (Limited to 15 students). Poker Class 1 2-6 p.m. (Limited to 7 students). Poker Class 2 6:30-10:30 p.m. (Limited to 7 students). Training takes approximately 8 weeks to complete. Preference will be given to Grand Ronde Tribal members and passing a basic math exam is required. Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority One position open to Tribal and Non-Tribal applicants The Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority Board has one Board of Commissioner's seat open. Anyone who is interested in serving in this position and who has hous ing related experience to qualify for the position, is encouraged to attend the Monday, November 16, 2004, board meeting. The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Housing Authority office at 28450 Tyee Road (just off Grand Ronde Road) in Grand Ronde. Please call to confirm the date and time. This is an opportunity to: 1) observe how the board functions, 2) become acquainted with the types of issues that are regularly discussed and 3) determine if you are seriously interested in such a position now or in the future. The open position will fill a recently vacated seat, with a term that expires in March 2006. Interested persons should have a demonstrated interest in housing and experience in the housing field in some capacity, such as: B affordable housing development property management residential building construction housing finance housing planning other housing-related areas The board oversees all housing development, housing management, hous ing programs and housing operations for the Tribe and is responsible for policy decisions. The board currently meets at 5:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month at the Housing Authority office in Grand Ronde. Casino Revenue Distribution 2004 The Tribal Council has passed a resolution authorizing a distribution of casino revenue to Tribal members through the Member Benefits Depart ment. Distribution Date: Friday, December 10, 2004 Eligibility: In order to receive a per-capita payment, you must be liv ing as of January 1, 2004 and an enrolled member of the Tribe as of De cember 4, 2004. A check will be automatically generated for members 18 years of age as of December 10, 2004. Children born in 2004, assuming they meet all other eligibility requirements, are eligible for the December 10, 2004 distribution. For those members under the age of 18 funds will be distributed into their trust accounts. The amount is not yet deter mined and we will not have that information until sometime the first week of December. NO REQUEST FORM NEEDED FOR THIS DISTRIBUTION. Address & Social Security Number: If you have changed your ad dress or have other permanent changes please contact the Member Ben efits Department at 1-800-422-0232: Liz Leno, ext. 2082, Amy Whisler, ext. 2223 or Hollie Mercier, ext. 2490 in the Member Benifits Department. We cannot distribute a check without a Social Security Number, and this includes minors' distribution. The deadline for address, or any other changes is Friday, November 19, 2004. Any address changes beyond November 19, 2004 will NOT be on the checks mailed. Checks may be picked up at the Tribal Gymnasium located at the Edu cation Facility on December 10, 2004, between the hours of 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. No checks will be picked up before 8 a.m. Any checks not picked up that day will be mailed to the address we have on file on Decem ber 10, 2004. Payments from casino revenues are subject to federal and where appli cable, state income taxes. Tribal members are responsible for any tax due as a result of this payment. Check Cashing At The Casino As December draws near we would like to inform all Tribal members of the process that has been initiated at the casino for you to cash your checks with the greatest amount of speed and efficiency; including the identification that will be required. On Friday, December 10, we will have four windows set up in the Bingo Hall for your convenience in order to simplify the handling of checks for all Tribal members. These windows will be ready to assist you in the cashing of your checks quickly and easily. Please bring valid photo I.D. such as your Tribal I.D. card or a Driver's License.
