These positions are designed and funded for the purpose of providing enhanced opportunities for youth andor students. Youth Crew Leader F&W Intern $10.50-$13.00hour. Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30 Approximately 14 weeks, starting June 11, 2004 (flexible) Duties: Supervise and provide leadership to a seven-person summer youth work crew for eight weeks and assist the Fish and Wildlife Depart ment for four to six weeks. Projects may include stream and riparian restorationenhancement, trail and park maintenance and construction, native vegetation plantings, habitat enhancement monitoring, and other natural resource and community projects. Qualifications: Desire to work with youth and in natural resources. Must be in good physical condition and be able to work in rugged outdoor terrain. Experience in the proper use of hand tools. Good communication skills. Requirements: Work boots, valid Oregon Driver's License, safe driving record. Must successfully complete pre-employment background check and drug test. Closing date: Friday, May 21, 2004. Youth Crew Member $7.75hour Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30 Approximately 8 weeks, starting July 1, 2004 Duties: Work as a member of a seven-person summer youth work crew. Youth crew projects may include stream restorationenhancement, trail and park maintenance, native tree plantings, forest inventory work, or other natural resource and community projects. Qualifications: Must be 16-19 years of age. Must have the ability or experience to safely and properly use hand tools. Must be in good physical condition and be able to work in rugged outdoor terrain. Interest or experi ence in natural resources related work helpful. Requirements: Furnish their own work boots and successfully com plete pre-employment background check and drug test. Closing date: Friday, June 11, 2004.
