If .i 4 0 Table Games DEALER SCHOOL 16 POSITIONS AVAILABLE Accepting applications from June 2nd to June 12th, 2003 from Spirit Mountain Casino internal employees and enrolled members of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde. Must be at least 21 years of age. There is no class or registration fee. Application and admittance to this school adheres to Spirit Mountain Casino's Tribal Preference policy. Classes will start in July-dates to be determined. Length of class time is 6 to 8 weeks. Students must attend 4 full weeks of classes before audition is considered. Students will learn the policies and procedures for required games dealt at the casino. The required games are: Blackjack, Let It Ride Bonus, Fortune Pai Gow, Three Card Poker and Big 6. One is for a Committee member position and one is for the student represen tative position. The student representative position requires that the Tribal member be attending a post secondary training or education in stitution full time. CHEMEKETA PLACEMENT TEST If you are a new student pursuing a degree or certificate, you will be asked to take a free placement test (ASSET) in order to be accepted for admission. Test results more than five years old are not valid. The pur pose of the test is to determine your skill levels in reading, writing, and mathematics so you can select the entry-level classes that are right for you. ASSET will be offered Tuesday, June 10. Scholarship And Job Opportunity Web Site In an effort to increase the number of minority students who take ad vantage of federally funded scholarship and job opportunities, a govern ment agency has created a Web site consolidating information on such programs. The site, called e-Scholar http:studentjobs.gove-scholar.htm and de signed by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, lists government scholarships, fellowships, grants and internships geared to high-school, undergraduate and graduate students. The e-Scholar site contains details on internships for minority students, opportunities to travel abroad, and specific programs, like the White House Fellows program. Diversity Makes a Difference Scholarship Nominations For High School Students If you know a high-school student who is a champion of diversity, you can help that student win a $1,000 scholarship from the Northwest Asian Weekly Foundation. Teachers, counselors, principals and community mem bers are invited to nominate high-school students from Western Wash ington who are visionaries and champions of diversity.
