2 MARCH 15, 2003 Smoke Signals Community Meetings Notice The Tribal member Community Meetings for the Grand Ronde Tribes will be held in April to share information on current Tribal plans and to gather information for goal setting. Included will be a review of recent projects and key achievements. Comments will be used in guiding pro grams and projects and in grant applications (e.g. Community Develop ment Block Grant, Administration for Native Americans, Head Start, etc.). Your participation is needed, appreciated and makes a difference. A meal will be served at the start of each meeting and there will be a coffee break during each meeting. The meetings will be held at the follow ing locations in Portland, Eugene and Grand Ronde. April 17, 2003 Thursday Sweetbrier Inn (Columbia Room) 6:00 8:30 p.m. 7125 SW Nyberg Road Tualatin, Oregon 97062 Take 1-5 Exit 289 and go east on Nyberg Road. The Inn is just east of the Interchange on your left and is visible from the freeway. (The Colum bia room is upstairs, the first room on your right. There is an elevator.) The hotel is visible from the freeway. (Use the restaurant lounge entrance near the far end of the parking lot. The Concord Room is the first room on your left.) Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority Opportunity For Comment On GRTIIA's Performance Under The Indian Housing Plan Under the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determi-nation Act of 1996, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban De velopment (HUD) will provide grants to Indian TribesIndian Hous ing Authorities for the development and operation of low-income hous ing in Indian areas. Grants are made to eligible recipients under the Indian Housing Block Grant Program. To be eligible for the grants, respondents must submit an Indian Housing Plan that meets the mini mum requirements of the Act, submit annual performance reports to HUD, and maintain records for HUD monitoring. The Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority (GRTHA) received grants subject to an In dian Housing Plan for fiscal years 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002. Comments on the Annual Performance Report are welcome and cop ies of this report can be obtained at the GRTHA office or by calling 503-879-2401, or 1-800-422-0232, extension 2401. Comments must be submitted in writing to GRTHA no later than 5:00 p.m., Monday, March 17. Comments will be incorporated into the final Report.
