Smoke Signals 3 AUGUST 15, 2002 Tff 5 Dear Editor, The 2001-2002 Preschool Parent Committee would like to thank the following for their help and support during our July 31 penny march: the children at Before & After care for making the decorations for our table, the staff at the preschool for helping with the preparations and lending their support, the par ent volunteers and students that came to greet those that stopped by, Tim Bucknell for providing sack lunches for the volunteers you are always willing to help us and we greatly appreciate it. Junelle Fox you go above and beyond to help the parent committee get things done and answer any questions we have. Thank you. A special thank you to all of the staff at the Tribal offices for showing your support by donating your change and stopping to see us. Sisters' Western & Native American Festival Saturday and Sunday, August 31 and September 1 A wonderful cultural fair portraying our western and Native American heritage! The Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for artists, crafters, food vendors, entertainers, educational organizations who would like to purchase booth space and sell their goods, representing their tribal culture! Please contact Annette Hayden, Events Coordinator for the Sis ters Area Chamber. There will be approximately 15,000 visitors to this festival, and will provide a great opportunity for visibility and recognition! Subsistence Salmon Distribution August 15 All membership 8:00 12:00 1:00 5:00 August 16 All membership 8:00 12:00 1:00 5:00 B Tribal members are allowed two pounds per enrolled member. B You must present your Tribal ID card to pick up salmon. B If picking up salmon for family members you must have their Tribal ID and a note giving you permission to pick up their salmon. The note must list all minor children and their roll numbers. B For questions regarding the salmon distribution call Karen Larsen at 503-879-2376. Distribution is located at the Natural Resources Fa cility. Attention: Only for Tribal members who have not received their salmon for this year. This notice is to inform you that there were errors in the spelling of some candidates' names on the ballot originally sent to you for the election to be held on September 7, 2002. To address these errors, the Election Board has mailed corrected ballots to all voters eligible to receive them. The corrected bal lot can be identified by a red bar printed at the top of the ballot. Only one ballot will be accepted from each voter. If you have already returned the origi nal ballot and the corrections do not impact your vote, it is not necessary for you to mark and return this corrected ballot. The original ballot will be accepted and tabulated. In the event that a voter returns both ballots, the cor rected (red bar) ballot will be the only one accepted. The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Election Board regrets any confusion or in convenience this inadvertent error may have caused and has decided on this course of action to provide the most tair ana equitaoie resolution possible to both the candidates' in the elec tion and the voters of the CTGR. SHANDY " I Corrections B Spirit Mountain Casino sponsored the Fourth of July display in Salem, not the Spirit Mountain Community Fund as reported in the July 15 issue. B Halona Butler's name was misspelled in the August 1 issue. B Leah Brisbois's name was misspelled in the August 1 issue. If Fun Time - The Spirit Mountain Casino's annual employee picnic was held at the Sheridan City Park on Wednes day, July 10.
