Box 69, Grand Ronde Or egon 97347 Public Comment Opportunity The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) invites your writ ten comments on Proposed Air Quality Rules for Idaho, Oregon and Washington Indian Reservations. These basic rules, developed under the Clean Air Act (CAA), would establish enforceable air pollution regulations on Indian reservations in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington where there are currently no EPA approved Tribal or State Implementation Plans. They would provide air quality protection for the public within res ervation boundaries by controlling emissions from sources located within reservations in a manner similar to how sources located out side the reservations are regulated. The rules include a program for identifying air pollution sources, procedures to follow during air pollution emergencies, rules for open burning, and some emission limitations for industrial sources. Copies of the proposed rules are available by calling 206-553-0977, or on the web at: www.epa.govrlOearthtribalairrules.htm. Written comments must be received no later than June 13, 2002.
