Tribal Housing Authority Seeking Members
Three positions open to Tribal or non-Tribal applicants.
The Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority has three Board Commis
sioners whose terms expire in March 2002. Anyone who is interested in
serving in one of these positions and who has housing related experience to
qualify for the position, is encouraged to attend the January Board meeting.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 22 at 5:30 p.m. at the
Housing Authority office in Grand Ronde. Please call to confirm.
All letters need to be received by February 4, 2002 to be considered. For
more information regarding qualifications, or to confirm the Board meeting
date, contact the Authority at 503-879-2401 or toll-free at 1-800-422-0232,
ext. 2401.
All interested girls must be able to meet the following guidelines in order
to be eligible for the Veterans' Royalty Court:
fl Girls must be enrolled members of the Confederated Tribes of the
Grand Ronde.
a Participants should have never been married and have no children,
a All girls must be enrolled in and currently attending a public or private
school.
D All girls participating must be drug and alcohol free,
a They must have one year of pow-wow experience.
They must have their own regalia or be able to make their own rega
lia before the application deadline. Participants must be willing and
able to attend all Veterans' events and be prepared to represent the
Veterans and the Tribe.
a Must have a parent or sponsor willing to participate and attend ac
tivities with the girls and provide transportation.
Royalty Court participants and their parent or sponsor must attend
all required events (pow-wows, parades, fund-raisers, organizational
meetings and others). Absences can be prearranged with the Royalty
Committee Advisor. Three unexcused absences will result in disqualifi
cation from Royalty Court. Please note that all participants receive 1
point for every event. Royalty Court participants are expected to stay
for the duration of the events. This includes helping setup for events
such as meetings and parades, as well as dancing during Grand Entry
and staying until the flags are retired unless pre-approved with the Roy
alty Advisor. Participants are expected to speak in front of large groups
of people. Royalty Court participants must be willing and able to dance.
Remember: You are all part of a team and are expected to treat
yourselves, running mates and others with respect at all times.
a As of July 9, 2000 girls must be 9 to 1 3 years of age for Junior Veterans'
Royalty Queen; and 14 to 18 years of age for Senior Veterans' Royalty
Queen.
Entries must be received by Tuesday, March 5, 2002.
A mandatory meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5
at the Veterans' office, located in the modular offices by Education.

REQUEST FOR STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS
This Request for Statements of Qualification (SOQ) represents a General Con
tractor Pre-Qualification process being conducted by the Grand Ronde Tribal
Housing Authority, Grand Ronde, Oregon. This is nflta Request for Bids. Contrac
tor responses to this Request will be used to make a list of qualified contractors
who will then be invited by the Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority to submit
competitive Bid Proposals to construct a 5,400 SF administrative office and a 1,400
SF shop.
Contractors wishing to be considered must request a Qualification Packet as
provided by the Owner and respond to the requirements put forth therein. The
Packet consists of general information about the project, an AIA Document A305
Contractor's Qualification Statement, and additional questions deemed important
by the Owner. Contractors wishing to be considered must submit a letter from
their Bonding Company commenting on the Bonding Company's relationship with
the Construction firm and the Bonding Company's intent to issue a 100 percent
Performance Bond on the said Contracting Company's behalf in the event the said
Contracting Company is selected as the Contractor. Qualification Packets including
the Qualification Statement, accompanying questions and letter from the Bonding
Company must be received no later than 3:00 p.m., prevailing time, Friday, Janu
ary 18, 2001.

Grand Ronde is located approximately 30 miles West of Salem, Oregon. The
project will consist of two buildings and site improvements and is expected to cost
approximately $650,000.
The Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any and all
Statements of Qualification for good cause if it is determined in the public interest
to do so, and to waive any informalities in the qualification process.
