Accomplished basket maker and teacher Margaret Mathewson will guide this all day trip to gather traditional Grand Ronde basketry materials. Oregon Disabilities Commission seeks advisory committee members The Oregon Disabilities Commission is seeking volunteers for an advisory committee on state services to people with disabilities. "This is a wonderful opportunity to help shape Oregon public policy," said Janine DeLaunay, Director of the Oregon Disabilities Commission. "We're looking for people who want to make a difference." Applications are now being accepted for eight appointments to a committee that advises the Commission and the Oregon Department of Human Service on state services to people with disabilities. Membership is open to individu als with disabilities or their advocates. The Commission estimates that one out of five Oregonians has a disability. Advisory committee members serve one-year terms are excepted to attend a meeting every other month in Salem. Reimbursement for travel expenses is available.
