The Natural Resources department, in cooperation with Oregon Youth Conservation Corps, seeks a
youth crew leader and six youth crew members for its Summer Youth Crew program. These positions
are designed for the purpose of providing enhanced opportunities for youth or students.
YOUTH CREW LEADER. $10.50 per hour. Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Approximately 12 weeks, starting June 2001
CLOSING DATE: THURSDAY, MAY 24, 2001.
Duties: Supervise and provide leadership to a six-person summer youth work crew for eight
weeks and assist the Fish and Wildlife Department for approximately four weeks. Youth crew
projects may include stream restorationenhancement, trail and park maintenance, native tree and
plant plantings, forest inventory, or other natural resource and community projects.
Qualifications: Desire to work with youth andor in natural resources. Must be In good physical
condition and be able to work in rugged outdoor terrain. Experience in the proper use of hand tools.
Requirements: Work boots, valid Oregon Driver's License, safe driving record. Must success
fully complete pre-employment background check and drug test.
YOUTH CREW MEMBER. $6.50 per hour. Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Approximately 8 weeks, starting June 25, 2001
CLOSING DATE: THURSDAY, JUNE 7, 2001.
Duties: Work as a member of a six-person summer youth work crew. Youth crew projects may
include stream restorationenhancement, trail and park maintenance, native tree plantings, forest
inventory work, or other natural resource and community projects.
Qualifications: Must be 16-19 years of age. Must have the ability or experience to safely and
properly use hand tools. Must be in good physical condition and be able to work in rugged outdoor
terrain. Interest or experience in natural resources related work helpful.
Requirements: Furnish their own work boots and successfully complete pre-employment
background check and drug test.

present a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others.
Human Resources will be sponsoring informational meetings, assisting youth in appropriately filling
out an employment application and giving helpful tips on interviewing. We will also provide important
information on the Summer Youth Employment Program. Interested Tribal youth must attend one of
these informational meetings In order to participate in the program. Applications will only be ac
cepted through attendance of these meetings.
