FAIR GAMING: comment period open
The Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community of Oregon have
filed a petition with the National Indian Gaming Commission for a certifi
cate of self-regulation. One criteria for the issuance of a certificate is that
the Tribe has a reputation for safe, fair and honest operation of the gaming
activity. Comments in this regard are solicited and are to be submitted with
your name, address and day-time telephone number, directly to the Office of
Self Regulation, National Indian Gaming Commission, 1441 "L" Street, NW
9th Floor, Washington, DC 20005.

The Rock Creek Water District in
Grand Ronde, Oregon is soliciting
bids for the construction of a private
water storage facility, distribution
system, and package treatment
plant.
Sealed bids will be received no later
than 5:00 p.m., July 7, 2000 (post
marks not accepted).

The nature of the work is as follows:
site development for the storage tank
and treatment facility. The installa
tion of approximately 24,000 linear
feet of 4-inch and 6-inch PVC and
ductile iron pipe. Install approxi
mately 100 service connections. Con
struction of a 200,000 gallon glass
lined, bolted steel storage tank and a
shelter for, and installation of a pack
aged water treatment facility. Also
included in the project is the demoli
tion of the existing water treatment
facility.
Copies of the bid package and
plans may be obtained at the offices
of Otak, Inc. or the Rock Creek Wa
ter District. The plans and specifi
cation will be sold for $100 per copy.
A non-mandatory, pre-paid pack
age conference is scheduled for
Wednesday, June 21, 2000 at 9:00
a.m. at the project site. Contractors

right to reject bids if they do not com
ply with all prescribed public procure
ment procedures and requirements.
The bid must include a statement
indicating whether the bidder is a
"Resident Bidder," as defined in ORS

No bids from construction contrac
tor shall be received or considered by
the Water District unless the bidder
is registered with the Construction
Contractor's Board, as required by
ORS 701.035.

Child care providers can get free training in caring for special needs
children through an "Open Hearts, Open Doors" awareness workshop that
will also explore resources available to support providers in their work.
Continental breakfast, door prizes and lunch will be provided. Work
shops, all set from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., will be held:
