Safety Tips while visiting the Reservation
While visiting our reservation it is a good idea to be prepared and cautious.
Here are a few suggestions to make your trip a little safer and more enjoyable.
D Drive safely, watch out for other vehicles and
road damage. During hazardous road conditions
be especially careful (snow, ice, etc.).
O Check with the Natural Resources office for
possible job activity taking place on the reserva
tion and surrounding areas (logging, road work,
etc.).
D Be aware of people using firearms near or on
the reservation, always dress to be seen during
hunting seasons, and be careful at the rock quarry
of people target practicing.
D Always know where you are in the woods. If
not familiar with the area, stop and get a map
from the Natural Resources office. Contact the
local forest service office for roads in the surround
ing area.
D Do not harvest or eat any plants unless you
are positive they are safe and edible.
Have fun and be aware of your surround
ings. For any questions or additional information
contact Shonn Leno, Natural Resources Techni
cian, at (503) 879-2397.
