Rick will be sharing his incredible story of how he battled and survived oral cancer. At the age of 1 2 Rick started using "spit tobacco" and at the age of 26 he was diagnosed with cancer. The end result was the loss of one-third of his tongue, half of his jaw, and partial use of his right arm. Since this happened, Rick has devoted his life to educating others about the risks of chewing tobacco. His message is powerful! One of every four people who chew tobacco will have a health problem, whether it be tooth loss, gum disease, or cancer. One can of chewing tobacco contains five or six times the nicotine in a pack of cigarettes. Chewing tobacco also contains lead and formaldehyde. Rick presents medical evidence that is easy to understand. He does not preach to his audience, but he does tell those who have not started chewing tobacco to look at the facts before taking that first pinch. The Round-up will also feature calf roping. This event will be free of charge, and you will have a chance to talk with Rick Bender and win a prize such as Justin Roper Boots, bolo ties, Wrangler jeans, and much more. The youth Round-up will be held at 1 p.m. June 14 at the Spirit Mountain Stampede. LOTS AVAILABLE: Grand Meadows manufactured home subdivision in Grand Ronde still has lots available.
