smoke sms I mmtvm(iQy 3 GrOCerS tO hold Sale at Honor Lights raise dollars for Clinic art Community Center Grand Ronde tribal member Andy Auger and his wife Rebecca will be holding a spe cial discount grocery sale on Friday, Janu ary 31 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Satur-. day, February 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the tribal Community Center. The sale will be open to all tribal and non-tribal members. There will be no minimums and they will accept all the usual forms of payment. (All items are within the expiration date and are safe to use.) Andy is a liquidation broker and handles overstocks, closeouts, and surplus goods for many leading name-brand foods you will recognize. Some of the items featured for this sale will include soups, hot and cold cereals, coffee, jell-o, chips, plastic baggies, pet food, and many others. "If a case of food is dropped in a store, the whole case is sold as salvage," he said. "We will bring some health and beauty items, cleaning supplies, and housewares. We will bring as much variety as we can to this first sale, but please don't expect to walk into a full-service grocery store. We prom ise not to ask you if you want paper or plas tic, though!" Part of the reason for this sale is to help with the Grand Ronde Food Bank. So af ter the sale, Andy will be assisting with the outfitting of the food bank facility and will be offering many items to the Food Bank at cost, if they are interested. Andy and Rebecca Auger have owned and operated Coyote Ridge Liquidators for three years and currently liquidate food and goods of all kinds. They have operated as many as three full-time retail stores at once, including one in Lincoln City. After they got married and realized they never got to spend any time together because of work, they decided to slow down. Andy said, "Rebecca and I have talked about doing a sale like this in Grand Ronde for sometime, but have been too busy. We look forward to this first sale and hope to meet some new friends in Grand Ronde as well as help out the Food Bank." Public Notice Environmental Assessment completed and finding of no significant impact issued for the proposed GUMSHOE THIN LOGGING UNIT, GRAND RONDE INDIAN RESERVATION. The Environmental Assessment (EA) and a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) have been issued for the proposed Gumshoe Thin Logging Unit in Sections 7, 12, and 18, T.4S., R.7W., W.M. on the Grand Ronde Indian Reservation. The EA discloses the issues relating to the environmental resources affected by the Proposed Action and al ternatives to the Proposed Action. The EA further discloses the analysis of the likely environmental consequences of the Proposed Action and alternatives to the Proposed Action. The FONSI discloses the alternative selected by the responsible official and gives supporting reasons for this selection. The Preferred Alternative, Alternative A, would thin a 46 year-old stand of Douglas-fir and construct 0.76 mile of road. The thinning would harvest approximately 50 1,000 board feet of timber from 35.3 acres of partial cut area and 3.4 acres of clear-cut area for roads and landings. The stand would be "thinned from below," meaning the smaller, suppressed trees will be taken out to favor the vigorous, dominant trees in the stand. The EA and FONSI are available for public review and comment for a period of 15 days beginning the first day after publication of this notice. The responsible public official is: Mr. Stan Speaks, Portland Area Director for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Written comments and requests for copies of the EA and FONSI should be addressed to: Mr.. Jeff Kuust, Logging and Transportation Coordinator, Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, Natural Resources Division, P.O. Box 70, Willamina, OR. 97396. For further information you can contact Jeff Kuust at (503) 879-2379. Written comments must include (1) your name, address, and telephone number; (2) title of the document on which you are commenting; (3) specific facts or comments along with supporting reasons that you believe the responsible official should consider. Comments received will be considered before taking final action.
