Regular Part Time, 30 hours per week DEPARTMENT DIVISION: Tribal Court REPORTS TO: Chief Judge CLOSING DATE: July 11, 1994 OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for all administrative phases of Tribal Court operation including case file management, office management, transcription of court hearings, and forms development. Receives and files incoming court documents. Types court orders and ensures orders are properly mailed; assists with typing requests from other departments as needed, with Tribal Court responsibilities always taking priority. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATIONTRAINING: High school graduate or equivalent and 3 years office experience preferably in a court or legal setting; OR ASAA degree in Secretarial Science and 1 year administrative or secretarial experience. SKILLS: Legal transcription or equivalent; intermediate level word processing, general office procedures, computer operations, minimum typingspeed of 50 words per minute. KNOWLEDGE OF: Federal, state, and tribal confidentiality regulations. ABILITY TO: Communicate both verbally and in writing; abilty to relate to to external agencies and individuals regarding tribal court procedures, assist with forms preparations and proper filing of petitions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: AAAS in a business related field and one year experience as a legal secretary or high school graduate orequivalentandthreeyears recent legal secretary experience; or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the above describes duties. Volunteers are needed to donate desserts for Saturday's meal. Good items are pies, cakes, and cookies. Workers are needed to help in the parking lot, kitchen, and maintenance areas as well. The committee encourages all interested parties to sign up for the parade on August 20. It will begin at 1 1 a.m. at the tribal cemetery. This year's logo contest winner is tribal member Betsy Pakali Stone of Alaska. She won $50. The Grand Ronde Pow-wow will be August 19, 20, and 21. Courtney Warren travelled all over Oregon this past year representing the Tribe as Jr. Miss Grand Ronde. Pow-wow Approaches Royalty and Tiny Tots The 1994-95 Royalty Court consists of 5 Miss Grand Ronde Princesses: Brandy Leno, Kristen Wheeler, Sydney Clark, Jaime Clark, and Erica Empey. There are 7 Honorary Princesses: Emma Leno, AllisonEmpey, Rachel Clark, Teresa Henry, Ashley Bedortha, Andrea Childers, and Nikki Norwest. Courtney Warren was Junior Miss Grand Ronde for 1993-94. TinyTots Royalty application must be turned in by July 15. Girls ages 3 -5 who are enrolled members of the Grand Ronde Tribe are eligible. Judging is based on raffle tickets only. All contestants must have regalia and be able to attend the Royalty Pageant, Grand Ronde pow wow, and parade in August. All raffle tickets must be turned in to the Royalty Committee no later than August 18, 1994, 5p.m. The girl who sells the most raffle tickets with be awarded a sash and crown with hair ties during the Royalty Pageant on Friday, August 19, 1994.
