ATTENTION TRIBAL MEMBERS: The new revised timetable for the Enrollment has been set for March 31st. As the deadline for applications to be in. This will allow the Enrollment Clerk, the Advisory Board, and the Tribal Council sufficient time to process applications recleved during the past 6 months. CTGR SEEK SEAT ON COMMISSION ON INDIAN SERVICES: At the request of CTGR, Senator Dell Isham and Representative Paul Hanneman , co-sponsored Senate Bill 311 which allows for a seat for CTGR on the Commission on Indian Services. The Commission is a state commission created by statute in 1975 for the purpose of improving services to Indians in Oregon. The ten Commission members are appointed jointly by the President of the Oregon Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives. The Commission selects it's own officers- a Chairman and Vi ce-Chai rman- to serve One year tei Current Members of the Commission on Indian Services are: Conf. Tribes of the Warm Spring? Reservation; Conf. Tribes of the Umatilla Reservation;Burns Piaute Tribe;Conf. Tribes of Siletz Indians of Oregon ;K1 arnath Fal lsChi loquin;Portland Urban Area;South Coastal Area; Willamette Valley Area. Tribal Chai rman , Dean Mercier appeared before the Human Services Aging Committee to presenl testimony in support of Senate Bill 311,Thur,Feb 2k, 1983 . Marvin Kimsey, Jackie Colton, Kathryn Harrison and Pat Gray were also present at the hearing to lend support to Dean as presented testemony. Kathy Green .Executive Sec. Commission on Indian Services was also available for the questions from the Committee. None were asked. The Bill was passed by unanimous vote, out of the Human Services Aging Committee to the Ways and Means Committee. Hearings for this Committee have not been scheduled yet.
