February 5, 2025 Warm Springs Nation Little League signing up players and coaches Warm Springs Nation Little League registration is open now through March 3. Regis- tration is done with paper forms: Player registration, medical release and school enrollment for ms can be downloaded from the Warm Springs Nation Little League website. All paperwork needs to be turned in and fees paid in per- son. The fees are Juniors $90, Majors $75, Minors $55, and Rookies $45. T-Ball is free. The League is also looking for volunteer coaches for the up- coming season. Each team must have one manager and two coaches. Anyone interested will need to complete volunteer forms and training. School board meeting in regard to Academy HVAC replacement Matthew Suppah-Scott has been the leading scorer and rebounder on the Madras White Buffalos basketball team, earning him the Athlete of the Month honor over this winter. At the time of the award he was averaging 13.6 points per game, and 9.7 rebounds a game. He is a great leader on and off the floor, always setting a great example for the rest of the team. He is doing a great job in the classroom as well. The board of directors of the Jefferson County School District 509-J will meet in the board con- ference room at 445 SE Buff Street, Madras this Monday, Feb- ruary 10 at 7 p.m. The purpose of the board meeting is to take comments on the board’s draft findings for an exemption from the competitive bidding requirements of the Or- egon Revised Statutes Chapter 279C as related to the War m Springs Academy heating, venti- lation and cooling systems re- placement project. The project includes demolition of the existing VRF HVAC system, installation of a new hot water boiler plant and associated piping, installation of a new air cooled chiller and associated piping, instal- lation of new HVAC equipment, modification of the HVAC controls as needed for new equipment. Any interested person may ap- pear and present comment. Cop- ies of the findings may be obtained upon request. Weatherization staff conduct an on-site energy audit. This is a four- hour activity for evaluating and documenting the existing condition of your home.
