Page 2 Spilyay Tymoo, Warm Springs On the Tribal Council agenda The following are some of the items coming up on the Tribal Coun- cil agenda during the rest of Octo- ber (subject to change at Council discretion): Monday, October 21 9 a.m.—12 noon: Transmission project update with the Cathy Ehli, Power and Water general manager, and tribal attorney. 1:30 p.m.: Indian Health Service update with director Admiral Marcus Martinez. 2:30: Health and Human Ser- vices discussion with Caroline Cruz. Join Recreation for Pumpkin Patch Fun Trip Warm Springs Recreation will host a Pumpkin Patch Fun Trip on Monday, October 21. The trip will be to Liepold Fams in Boring. The Recreation bus will leave at 9:30 a.m., and return at 4:45 p.m. Re- member to bring a sack lunch, good walking shoes, and a warm jacket. Besides the pumpkins at the farm, there will be varieties of apples and squash for sale. The pumpkins are of all sizes and col- ors. There will be a Corn Maze and Hay Maze, a hay ride, and five- pound pumpkin. Cost is $12 per person. Space is limited, so please stop by the Recreation office to pay for your spot, and fill out the permis- sion slip. For more information, call them at 541-553-3243. Notes... The next meeting of the KWSO Community Advisory Board is scheduled for Friday, November 1 from 2-3:30 p.m. at the Warm Springs Media Center. The annual meeting is open to the public with invitations sent to representatives from tribal pro- grams, Indian Health Service, BIA, Community Organizations and tribal enterprises. Warm Springs Recreation is hosting an art contest with the theme What I Love About Warm Springs, The Rez, Our Home. There are all age categories from toddler to elders. Turn in art by the end of the day this Wednesday, October 16 at the Community Center office for a chance to win prizes. The art contest event will be held on Friday, October 18 from 5-8 p.m. in the Social Hall. The Jefferson County School District 509-J is holding its annual Impact Aid Family Engagement Meeting on Thursday, October 24 at 5 p.m. at the Warm Springs Academy. Dinner will be provided. Folks are encouraged to learn more about Impact Aid for the district, and attend the meeting to ask questions and offer input. Practice early detection. It is recommended that all women over the age of 40 get an annual mammogram. Monday, October 28 9 a.m.: Secretary-Treasurer up- date with Robert Brunoe. 10: November agenda. 11: Draft resolutions. 1:30 p.m.: Legislative update calls, federal and state. October 16, 2024 Council seeks to fill board, committee, commission positions Tribal Council seeks to fill the following positions on tribal committees, boards of directors and commissions: Education Committee: One tribal member position and one non-member alterna- tive position. The board serves as an advisory body to the Tribal Council in the develop- ment of educational programs and opportunities for tribal members. Review and recom- mend educational services of- fered through tribal, state and federal agencies. Letters of interest and re- sumes of applicants interested in serving on a tribal commit- tee, submit to the following ad- dress no later than Monday, October 21, 2024: 1. Drop off at the tribal ad- ministration building addressed to the Secretary-Treasurer/ CEO. 2. By mail to: CTWS Secre- tary-Treasurer/CEO, PO Box 455, War m Springs, OR 97761. Please sign a criminal back- ground check. Forms can be emailed or mailed to you. Re- turn signed forms to the Man- agement office. Information will be submitted confidentially to the S-T/CEO. Telco Board of Directors: One position, non member. The company, subject to restrictions of applicable laws and the cor- porate articles of incorporation and bylaws, performs every act the board deems necessary, ex- pedient or advisable to carry out the objective of this enter- prise. Application process same as above. Warm Springs Tribal Em- ployment Rights Commis- sion, TERO: One position. The position is open to any In- dian 18 years and older who works or resides on the reser- vation. The board oversees the successful operation of the of- fice. Application same as above. Water Board: Two posi- tions, ending October 30, 2025. The Tribal Council has the responsibility of manag- ing the water resources of the reservation through the Wa- ter Management Plan. The three-member board is the advisory body in carry out this mission. Application same as above. The Warm Springs Housing Authority Board of Commis- sioners: One position. The Tribal Housing Authority is the body established to develop policies and procedures relat- ing to tribal housing, to give direction to the Housing man- ager and Housing Department, and make recommendations to Tribal Council regarding hous- ing matters.
