Back to school at Academy next week
by Sue Matters, KWSO
I t’s almost back to school time
at the Warm Springs Academy
and here’s some information fami-
lies should check out.
Kindergarten families should
have received letters for confer-
ences with teachers, coming up
this Friday, August 17 and Mon-
day August 20.
If you haven’t received a let-
ter, your child might not be regis-
tered for school.
The office opens this Wednes-
day August 15. You can reach them
at 541-553-1128. If needed, you
can come in to register and pick
up your kindergarten conference
letter.
If you are wondering about the
long school supply list (below),
know that many supplies will be
provided to Warm Springs Acad-
emy classrooms again this year.
Families may want to wait to
do back to school supply shopping
until after the first week of school,
to find out what items are still
needed from your teacher or
teachers.
If you do shop, you can’t go
wrong with a backpack, pencils,
pens and paper. And remember—
It’s great to have some supplies at
home as well as in the classroom.
First- through eighth-grade stu-
dents start back at the Warm
Springs Academy on Monday Au-
gust, 20. It’s a late start Monday
so school starts at 9:45 a.m. Rise
& Shine kids can come at 8 a.m.
Kindergarten students start at
the Warm Springs Academy on
Tuesday, August 21.
On regular school days kids
should arrive at school by 8:05 a.m.,
pick up breakfast and go to class-
rooms for an 8:15 a.m. start time.
Breakfast closes at 8:25.
From Monday, August 27
through Friday, August 31 there is
no school for a teacher in-service
week.
The Back to School Barbecue
and Family Information Fair is
Thursday, August 30 at the Acad-
emy. This is an opportunity for
school staff, students, families and
the community to share some time
together. The meal is free.
The Family Information Fair will
be in the cafeteria and gym. If you
visit all the booths, you will be en-
tered into a raffle drawing. It’s a
great opportunity to learn about
community resources, offer feed-
back., learn new things, make new
connections, and have some fun.
There is no school on Monday,
September 3 because it’s Labor Day.
Tune into KWSO weekday
mornings just after 7 a.m. for the
latest Academy information on
KWSO Eagle News.
