A major outdoor construc tion project is the football field and track. Construction crews have been leveling the ground, preparing the area for sod. Meanwhile, cabinetry and other furniture have arrived, and are being installed. The insulation is in, and the walls are being painted. July 18 is the construction completion date. The teach ers and other staff can move in after that, in preparation for the start o f school in Sep tember. The school is on 20 acres at E ast T en in o an d Chukkard. The buildings are 80,000 square feet in total size, roughly the size o f the J e ffe rs o n C o u n ty M iddle School. C onstruction o f the $20 million W arm Springs K-8 Academy began last summer. Election day on Tuesday Tuesday, May 20 is elec tion day in Oregon. Vote by mail ballots need to be turned in at the county clerk’s office or put in an official drop box by 8 p.m. on May 20. A drop box is located in Warm Springs on the campus by the Fire and Safety house, across from the Post Office. A drop box is also at the Jefferson County Clerk’s O f fice at 66 SE D S treet in Madras. At right, the basketball hoops were installed recently in the new gymnasium. Fire and Safety needs to raise $6,500 to have another am azing July 4 firew orks show. ' The department is asking for donations. Any litde bit helps.
