These numbers are forti fied by a record num ber o f wild fall chinook that passed Lower Granite Dam. D ata released recently by tribal, federal, state and hy dropower industry biologists show that last year’s Snake River fall chinook ru n in cluded the highest number o f wild fish to return since the com pletion o f Ice H arb o r D am ill 1960. T he spawning efforts o f the ru n also resu lted in a record number o f redds, the nests w here fish spawn, in b o th th e Snake and Clearwater river basins. The multi-agency run re construction o f fish return ing to Lower G ranite D am rev ealed 21,000 w ild fall c h in o o k re tu rn e d to th e Snake River in 2013. This accounted for 37.5 percent o f th e to ta l Snake R iver fall ch in o o k re tu rn o f 56,000 fish.
