Every day, students have the, chance to earn “Wolf Tickets,” which are given out as a reward for being kind, respectful and following the rules. Students bring their Wolf Tickets to thè “Holiday Store” to buy items that have been donated by parents, teachers and staff. “The kids are thrilled to buy things for others with their Wolf Tickets,” said Laurie Sensibough, retired 2nd grade teacher. Sensibough started the program a few years ago with Connie Henderson, and still returns each year to help out. Lola Hagman, who is in charge of the Holiday Store this year, is amazed at how generous the donations have been. “It’s special for the students to; ha Ve the opportunity to buy gifts for the people they care about,” said Hagman. “It has also been a really great incentive for them to demonstrate positive behavior and respect for one another.” Buff Principal Rosalynn Jaeger shares a m om ent w ith Hope King, grade 3. Kindergarten Teacher Renee Rodin w ith students and son W yatt Rodin at Warm Springs Elementary. Help from JCSD alumni inspires students at Warm Springs Elementary Renee Rodin, kindergarten teacher at Warm Springs Elementary, had extra help in her classroom last week as her son Wyatt Rodin was home from college for the holidays. Wyatt just completed his first semester at Eastern Oregon University and is working towards a degree in Natural Resources with a minor in Wildlife. He is an alumnus of Madras High School, and attended Warm Springs Elementary and Jefferson County. Middle school as well. “I had a great experience growing up and going to school in Jefferson County,” said Wyatt. “I felt like I was part of a family at Warm Springs Elementary. I was never treated like a minority, even though I was one of the only white kids in my class.” Mother, Renee Rodin appreciated Wyatt’s assistance. “The kids always get excited when younger people like Wyatt come into the classroom to help out,” said Rodin. “Wyatt is a good role model for these kids and they look up to him.” Gavin Williams (left) and Roxy Crowe Wallulatun find a seat for lunch at WSE. .
