The Confederated Tribes o f Warm Springs, the com munity center and Recreation D epartm ent will host the Car Light Parade and community Christmas Tree lighting next week. The parade and tree-light ing, plus the Native Aspira tions Family Fun Night, are set for next Thursday, Dec. 5. The line-up for the parade will be at 6 p.m. at the el ementary school. J udging will be at 6:30, and the parade starts at 7. The theme o f the parade this year is “Tis th ei Season.” The Christmas Tree Light-; ing Will be at 7:30 p.m. on the', front lawn o f the community/ center. After the tree-lighting, un- < til 9 p.m., will be the Family Fun Night, presented by N a tive A spirations. Bring the family and make some Christ mas crafts. The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, good friends of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, earlier this month hosted their Thirty-Sixth Annual Restoration Powwow. O sborne has been a coach at the high school for three years. H e worked earlier for the Bend-La Pine Schools from 2003-05; and for Redmond schools from 2006-2009. W hern th e alleg atio n s against Osborne came to light last week, school district su p erin ten d en t Rick M olitor sent a letter to school parents. It reads: “Once we were aware o f the allegations, We took im mediate action to ensure the safety o f our students, and notified law enforcement. To su p p o rt o u r stu d en ts and staff, the district aggressively seeks facts to determine the validity o f any allegations against staff members o f our district, W ith that said, we have been and will continue to work aggressively with lo cal law enforcement to deter mine next steps and move forward in this situation. J — Tire Guy — Dec. 17 court date in sex abuse case A December 17 court date is set in the case o f sex abuse allegations against Madras High School girls basketball and soccer coach M ichael Ray Osborne. According to the allega tions, the victim in the case is' a 17-year-old Madras girl. Osborne, 44, was arrested last week on multiple counts o f second- and third-degree sex abuse. , H e Was lo d g ed in th e Jefferso n C ounty Jail, and posted bail. H e posted the required 10 percent o f the $37,500 bail, and was re leased. The school district placed him on paid administrative leave. The court documents al lege that O sborne engaged in a consensual relationship with a girl who was 16 at the time the relationship started earlier this year. The girl admitted to hav ing sex with O sborne during a taped interview with police, and investigators found in c rim in atin g n o te s in O sborne’s desk at the school, according to reports. Also according to reports: T h e victim ’s m o th er c o n tacted police last Wednesday a fte rn o o n , a n d said h er daughter told her they had sex several times, which led to the investigation and arrest.
