They function as liaisons between veterans, the Veter ans Administration; and other community organizations who work with veterans and their family members. Made up primarily o f vol unteers, Tribal Veterans Rep- re sen tativ es (TVRs) w ork closely with all agencies in the community to help veterans obtain needed services and assistance completing paper w ork for healthcare enroll ment, claims benefits, educa tion benefits, and home loan benefits. They also provide infor mation, outreach and assis tance to veterans and their families, as well as find re sources that are available to the veterans through thë Vet erans A d m in istra tio n ,, the tribal community, federal and state governments, and other Randy Boise Sr. Gerald Sampson Sr. non-VA sources. T he Tribal Vet Reps di rectly supervise the tribal Veterans Service O fficer to ensure that all veterans are provided with equitable and reliable services. The Tribal Veterans Rep resentative is generally an A m erican Indian o r o th er c o m m u n ity m em b e r e n dorsed or sponsored by the tribe or tribal leaders: Training is provided by the VA, b u t TVRs are n o t VA employees. They are recog nized representatives o f their tribal organization who coor dinate all services within their local com m unity to ensure safety, timely services, and cooperation with all agencies.
