Scott. She was a four-year
basketball starter at Ma
dras H igh School, and
signed with the Aggies in
2011.
She is in her freshman
year; Abby is 6-1, playing
guard. She plans to major
in criminal justice.

“I ’ve seen her play on

The winter gillnet fishery

ary, and will close no later than
6 p.m. on March 21.
This is for all o f zone 6.

State to haze sea lions on Willamette

¡shotguns loaded with fire-
’crackers will be back on the
¡Willamette River this year
¡ trying to keep sea lions from
¡chowing down on salmon

Falls.
The hazing started in 2010
but was suspended la.st year
for lack o f money. The Leg
islature authorized $113,000
to pay for a boat and crew
for three months.
The idea is to allow more
threatened spring chinook
and w inter steelhead to g et
past the sea lions to spawn.
The state says as many as
21 sea lions were at the falls
in 2011, where biologists' es
timate they can each eat four
to seven fish a day. Similar
efforts have been going on
for years at Bonneville Dam
on the Columbia.
