graphs often contain the dra
matic and diverse landscape
and sky o f the High Desert.
Snowstorms and the elements
o f wind, water, sun and moon
appear with vigor. H er artis
tic interpretation o f salmon,
coyote and big horn sheep
express how strongly she was
connected to her homelands.
Interpretation o f N ative
wom en and m en in tradition
dress always has a contem
porary flair. Though small in
stature, she stood large in
life, as she painted, sculpted
and created strategies to
ward social change for N a
tive youth.
She held great pride in her
traditional fishing family, and
encouraged all who fished to
respect the river and salmon.
She was an enrolled member
o f the Confederated Tribes
o f Warm Springs.

B ran ch m ain tain s an im
pound lo t at the industrial
park.
I f your vehicle ends up
being towed to the lot, you
have 30 days to pay the tow
fee and get the car out.
After 30 days, the vehicle
becomes the property o f the
Police Department; which can
then sell the vehicle or sell
parts as scrap. Any revenue
is dedicated to operating the
lot, which is protected by an
electrified fence.
There is^no daily storage
fee for tribal member vehicles
at the lot.
The issue o f the lot came
up last week at Tribal Coun
cil. Councilman Eugene Aus
tin G reene Jr. asked Public
Safety Branch manager Stan
Suenaga about the policy, as
a constituent had a vehicle
towed from the reservation
to a lot in Madras.
The Madras lot charges a
daily fee.
Vehicles are towed from
the reservation to the Madras
lo t o n ly w h en th e W arm
Springs im pound lot is com
pletely full, said Suenaga.
T he Police D ep artm en t
has been doing a good job
lately o f keeping the lot less
than full; so vehicles are not
b ein g to w ed to M adras,
Suenaga said.
The average tow cost for
a vehicle tow ed from the
Agency area is about $120,
Suenaga said. The fee can be
as high as $200 to $300 for
vehicles towed from outlying
areas.
