Septem ber 10 is the first sc h o o l day fo r g ra d es 1 th r o u g h 5 a t th e W arm Springs Elem entary School. Septem ber 10 is the first school day for sixth-grade J e f f e r s o n C o u n ty M iddle School students. Septem ber 10 is the first school day for ninth-graders at the Madras High School. S e p te m b e r 11 is firs t school day for grades 7 and 8 at the Je ffe rso n C ounty Middle School. T he tournam ent got o ff to a rough start with a thunderstorm delay that set the games back a day. W.S. w on their first gam e vs. D istrict 2 rep Mt. Tabor, then lost their second vs: host District 3 Pendleton. Game 3 was an exciting come from behind victory over Mt. Tabor. G am e 4 (a re d e m p tio n w in over Pendleton) and Champion sh ip gam e (a loss to Corvallis) were played in the same day due to the de lay o f the start o f the tour nament. After initial pool play, Northwest H oops was placed in the tourna m ent Silver Bracket, then w on all five o f their games including the championship against Hualapai. T here were a total o f 48 girls teams. School sports physicals School sports physicals will be done at the W arm Springs Health and Wellness Center on Thursday, August 2, start ing at 1 p.m. T h e physicals are done on a first come, first serve basis. • Please be sure to fill the participation forms out before your physical and p a re n ts/ g u a rd ia n s do h e e d to be present. K id s sh o u ld also w ear loose clothing and bring im m unization records if they have ever had shots outside o f Oregon. Raffle for Team A local Portland to Coast Team Is hav ing a fundraising raffle for travel, ex penses. The drawing is oh August 17.
