(There will be no lunch served on Wednesday, July 4.) Starting Monday, June 25, the lunches in Warm Springs will be served from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Warm Springs cafeteria. KNT offers lifeguard classes The Kah-Nee-Ta life guard classes for the 2012 season are scheduled for this Thursday through Sun day, June 14-17. Classes begin at 8 a.m. Full-class participation would require 26 hours over the four-day course. Full course completion is required for certifica tion. C ost o f the class is, $200. To register, call the reso rt at 541-553-1112 ext. 3458. GED courses this summer from 5:45-8:45 p.m. Cost is $25. Pick up an intent to en roll form at the COCC Ma dras campus. The GED summer quar ter will be from June 26-Au- gust 30 at the Central Oregon Community College campus in Madras. The classes are basic read ing and basic math, and are on Tuesdays and Thursdays I . Pictured above are the first-grade classes singing “Nu Wahtan,” a Wolof-Fulani Waking Song from Gambia. Blythe Olson, school music director, worked with each grade to produce a program that included music from China, Africa, Korea and other places around the globe. Each grade performed three songs for the enthusiastic crowd. Peaceful Spirit Outing in July The Peaceful Spirit Out ing, honoring wounded war riors through fly fishing and cultural sharing, will be on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 24-25 at Lower Dry Creek in Warm Springs. .The organizers are look ing for fishing guides, volun teers and donations of tackle, food or funding. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the Olympic Oath is at 9. Lunch and aw ard s fo r all p a rtic i pants will be held at noon. Parents will need to sign a waiver for children to participate. E d iso n Y a z z ie w ill teach a basic roping class for youth in grades 3-12 from 10a.m .-2p.m . at the Education building training room. There is a limit of 30 kids. You can sign up at the OSU Ex tension office or by call ing 553-3238. This class is a b e g in n in g rop in g class and kids are en couraged to bring their own ropes, if they have them. There will also be a session on nutrition. Edison is looking for do nations to help this pro gram with supplies and is also looking for any old “head” ropes to be do nated for this event. Marcia will be in the lobby from 1-5 p.m. A potluck dinner and prayer gathering for the Warm Springs Christian com m unity will be at 6 p.m. at the High Lookee Lodge Tribal Room.
