Fair Ribbon Winners
High school, middle school
sports physicals next week
School sports physicals will be
held at the Warm Springs
Health and Wellness Center at
the clinic from 3:30-7 p.m. on
Thursday, August 18.
Students will need to check
in at the clinic front desk for
the physicals.
All students at Jefferson
County Middle School and Ma­
dras High School who are par­
ticipating in any sport activity are
required to have the physical ev­
ery two years.
The sports physical education
form is available now at the
clinic for parents to pick up and
complete.
The form needs to be filled
out and signed by a parent or
legal guardian before the physi­
cal is done.
Parents should accompany
students to the exam.
Students 16 and under must
be accompanied by a parent or
legal guardian for the exam:

Rosebud Whipple (above) and Annalise Whipple were
winners at this year’s Jefferson County Fair in July.
They won ribbons for the livestock they raised during the

MHS volleyball alumni fundraiser event Aug. 19
The Madras High School
Volleyball Alumni Fundraising
event is Friday, August 19 at 6
p.m.
There will be three teams:
one with current players, another
made up of former varsity play­
ers who graduated between
2006 and 2011, and a team of
former players who graduated
before ’06.
If you want to participate

uncles or friends cannot stand
in for a parent during the physi­
cal.
If you cannot make this
clinic, you may participate free
of charge on Monday, August
15, at the sports physical clinic
being held in Madras at the
Methodist Church across the
street from Mountain View Hos­
pital.
The Warm Springs Health
and Wellness Center will also be
holding another sports exam
clinic in September for those stu­
dents who decide to participate
in sports after school starts or
who cannot make either of
these sports physical exam
times.
