Spílygy Tymoo, Wgrm Springs, Oregon Pgge 3 Jgnugry 1, 2 0 0 9 Change of loan policy at tribal Credit Department By a c tio n o f th e W arm Springs Tribal Credit Board o f Directors, the following changes have b een m ad e to th e enterprise’s funeral loan policy: E ffective January 1, 2009, em ergency loans for funeral expenses will be made to mem bers o f the immediate family o f the deceased up to $1,000, if they qualify w ithin the estab lished credit limits for personal loans. Immediate family is defined as: mother, father, sister, brother or child. Extended family and others will be considered for loans up to $500, if they qualify within the established credit limits for personal loans. Extended family is defined as: Grandparent, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, grandchild or cousin. Funeral loan approval will be at the discretion o f loan offic ers as stated within credit limits for personal loans. I f there are any questions, please contact the tribal Credit Enterprise. Graduates can pick up gifts Daily fitness classes continue at Community Wellness Community Wellness contin ues to host group fitness classes through the m onth o f January. E ach day at 12:10 p.m. Wellness Coordinator Carolyn Harvey teaches a class in the aerobics room at the comm u n ity cen te r fo r anyone w ho wishes to attend. M onday an d T h u rsd a y classes feature cardio, w hile b o d y flex stre n g th tra in in g classes áre held on Tuesday and Friday. O n Wednesday Harvey teaches yoga. Cardio classes feature any combination o f step aerobics to cardio circuit class. The class is appropriate for all fitness lev els, as the instructors show dif ferent intensity levels. Body Flex classes bring resis tance training to a wide range o f individuals in a group exer cise setting. The purpose o f the class is to prom ote muscular strength an d en d u ran ce o f all m ajo r muscle groups while learning proper lifting technique. The class is safe for all fitness levels and is taught by H arvey and Tana Frank. Y oga is a b eg in n er-b ased class to help with stress manage ment. There are basic poses to train muscle endurance, balance and flexibility. T he class also incorporates some Pilates and is safe for all fitness levels. In addition, water aerobics are taught at K ah-N ee-Ta on Wednesday at 10:15 a.m’.^ and an en h an ced fitn ess class is taught to elders at the senior program at 10:45 a.m. on M on day, Wednesday and Friday. W ater F itn ess classes are ta u g h t by J e ri K o lle n and E dm und Francis from the Dia betes Program . T he class is appropriate for any fitness level fro m b eg in n er to advanced. Anyone needing a ride can call the senior center at 553-3313. The enhanced fitness class is an evidence-based exercise class for senior citizens and is fol lowed by a healthy lunch. The class includes a w arm -up fol lowed by low-impact aerobics, balance, strength training and stretching at the end. N o class will be held at 12:10 on January 21 due to the monthly Walk for Diabetes hosted at the Comm u nity Center.
