Page 9 October 9, 2008 Spilyay Tyrnoo, Warm Springs, Oregon Births H o w la k T ich u m Lucinda Mavis Stwyer “Shtika” L ucinda Mavis Stwyer “ Shtika” passed away on September 24, 2008, at the age of 24. She was a mem ber o f the C onfederated Tribes of Warm Springs and born to Davis Stwyer and the late Madene Meanus. H er grandparents, who raised her, are Jimmy and Neda Wesley, other grand parents are Marvin Meanus and the late Doris Meanus. Cinda had the love for people, always with a smile, and she w orked at H igh Lookee Lodge caring for el ders. She did the same at home— cooking, cleaning, and taking loving care of her g ran d p a and grandm a. When her grandfather re tired she headed the dinner w ith money. She got him a Pendleton coat and had special embroidery done on it. She loved working with horses— while in Winnemuca, Nev., she w orked on BLM land and helped train and break horses. L earning from h er g ra n d m other, she did beadw ork, butchered m eat, salmon, eels and worked with the medicine people as well as doing shawls, yarn bags, belts and more. She will be missed by all extended family, for the family is close— very close. Lucinda is survived by h er ch ild ren D o m enic Holliday, Melvin Tewee III and Heven Stwyer. Her brothers and sisters include Ambrose Meanus, Stanley M eanus, V esta M eanus, H e ste r Taylor, M artina Stwyer, Jam ie Wesley, Eliza Stwyer, Davis Stwyer Jr., Brandi Stwyer, Arnold Stwyer, and Ranee Stwyer as well as home fam ily Levi Frank and Wesley Redhouse Wesley. I knew this very special girl. Her life was light and free. She greeted others w ith a smile. So warm at heart was she. She seemed a kin to mother Earth. ------------------------- How beautiful her way. A friend to all the animals, with them she loved to play This special woman passed away. I grieve for her each day. She was a big part o f my life And now she’s gone away. I suffer from an emptiness, Where my friend used to be. My love for her will never die for all eternity. . This gives architects freedom in their designs, making these doors highly desirable in the marketplace, said Coochise. Composite Products also has patented processes involving the use o f intumescent materials, which 'swell when exposed to heat. These materials are used to create fire-rated w ood doorframes that can be matched with architectural fire doors. (Continued from page 1) Patrick Clark agreed and said his enjoyment o f the game was what led him to volunteer. “I love football,” he said. “It just made sense.” Alley David has been volun teering in a similar fashion for 21 years. According to David, he started volunteering once and hasn’t stopped. “I get a free ticket to all of the high school games, me and my wife,” he said. The group will continue to volunteer during all o f the jun ior varsity home football games this season.
