It meant a lot, even now as I
look back on all the chaos that
happened at that time, I appre

was there at the prayer services
held at our dad’s house and ev

my brother’s funeral.

At the time immemorial we,

custom almost forgotten: the
birthday.
We had a big feast! After this
we would bring out the presents,
bartered for, procured ourselves
in many ways. Then»we would
give it away. He, she, whom had
a birthday.
This practice needs to be re
vived. It had been a good medi
cine to our body, heart, soul.
Today is my birthday, and at
this time all I can give you is my

and privilege of coaching teen
basketball with our youth for a
number o f years. There is no
greater feeling than that o f one
o f our young men coming up
to you and saying thank you for
coaching, for this reason or that
reason. To know that you made
a positive difference in some
young person’s life, maybe at a
time in their life that they needed

out ahead of the rest to be
