How to get a dental exam at the Health and Wellness Center B y Jeff Carolla DDS Chief of Dental Services While many patients say good things about dental services at the clinic, the number one com plaint is how hard it is sometimes to get a dental appointment. Our schedule to see patients has changed as a result o f many years of learning what our pa tients need and w ant.. We have “walk-in times” for true .emergencies, “regular ap- pointments” for things that can wait a few weeks and “open ac cess” for same day appoint ments which can be for emer gencies or regular visits. Here are some guidelines that you may find helpful: Walk-in appointm ents are currently from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. This is the time we set aside for those toothaches that have kept people up all night, broken jaws and patients with Scholarship chair ' I t is open season and the hunt is on in Jefferson County for local scholarships. Applications are still being' accepted from Mt. View Hos pital Auxiliary scholarship pro gram, which also administers the Velva K. Bean Memorial Schol arship fund and the Kimberly O lson M emorial Scholarship fund. Part time students are now eli gible to apply if they are taking a minimum of 6 credit hours. The applicationtis now easier than ever to find at its new home on the Mt. You may notice the application is longer and more detailed but don’t let that scare you. It is lengthier because it was designed to reach all types o f students that do and don’t fit the category o f high school senior headed right for college. Remember, scholarships will be awarded soon and if you apply there is a good chance of receiving one. But the deadline is around the corner and no more applications will be ac cepted after May 15.
