edition of the Spiiyay Tymoo.)
Under some criticism, the
Agency District held their nomi
nations for Tribal Council mem
bers the evening o f March 4.
The criticism stems from some
who thought the nominations
were too soon after the deaths
o f two tribal members. Alto
gether, 17 people were nomi
nated, two of those declined. In
other news:
The Warm Springs Forest
Products Industries 1982 annual
report was discussed recently at
a general council meeting at
tended by few. 1982 was the
“worst year we’ve had when you
look at the total loss,” said gen
eral manager Bob Macy. “We’ve
never had a loss that high.” The
poor year was attributed to a
depressed market and a slipping
economy that’s been slow to re
cover. In other news:
WSFPI operated in and out
o f the profit zone throughout
the year. Also, chip prices
dropped considerably in Oct.
