Page 7 January 31, 2008 Spilyay Tymoo, Warm Springs, Oregon Howlak Tichum Jew el M arie W inishut, 1968-2008 Betty Vera Spin© passed away on Friday, January 18, 2008 at the hom e o f her mother in Chiloquin, Oregon She was born on March 25, 1981 in Madras to par ents F rancis “F re n ch ie” Spino Sr. and the form er Gwendolyn Mitchell. Ms. Spino was an enrolled member o f the Confederated Tribes o f Warm Springs. Her great grandfather, Andrew David, was brought up in the Presbyterian Church. Ms. Spino went to school in Warm Springs and later in Chiloquin. She loved to go fishing, hunting and camping. She loved to cook with her sons and nieces. She enjoyed going to powwows and ro deos. Ms. Spino is surivived by her m o th e r G w endolyn M itchell H u tch in so n ; sons KamiKen Spino and Joel T h om pson Jr.; brothers George Spino, Francis Spino Jr., Jonas Miller and Dennis Mitchell; sis ter Misty Mitchell; grandparents Ben Mitchell Sr., the Reverends M adeline and Calvin H u tch in so n and Versa and Snuff Smith Jr.; nieces Naliesha Spino, Nylanis ’Spino, Patrice Spino; uncles and aunts Ben and K athy M itchell, J e f f and K athleen M itchell, Mike Jew el M arie W inishut passed away in Warm Springs on January 18, 2008. She was 39. Ms. Winishut was born on September 20, 1968 to par ents Percy W inishut and Pauline Johnson. She was a lifetime resident M ontagner and Gale Mitchell, Marc and Robin M itchell, Rosalyn M oran, E d d ie and Lisa Spino, Winona and Roger Squire, Roxanne Spino, Louis Spino, Stretch and Raedean Spino, E dw ard and B etty Case, Glen and Billie Foosum, Joe and Barbara H ood, Rosie D u ran , L eon and T heda H u tch in so n , Jim m y H u tch in so n , Polk H u tch in so n , D o n n a and Tweet Nelson, Bonna and Ben P oole, and Summer W hiteshirt; and numerous cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Francis “Frenchie” Spino Sr., and her grandparents Edward and Amelia Spino, Betty Lou Mitchell, and the Reverands Bill and Winona Rentz. o f Warm Springs. Ms. Winishut was a homemaker and mother who enjoyed Spending time with her grandchildren. She also Eked to work with yarn making and dreamcatchers. Ms. Winishut is survived by4 her daughters Edna, Bernadette and Maureen Winishut, all of Warm Springs; brothers Don Sr., D uane Sr., and Stacy W inishut, all o f W arm Springs; sister C harlene Winishut o f Warm Springs; and four grandchildren.
