Pi-Ume-Sha Treaty Days
Great basketball season for Scott
T h e basketball season for
Abigail “Abby” Scott started in
Septem ber 2006 for an AAU
traveling team out of: Bend, the
Bend Pride.
She led the team to several
championships in the Central
Oregon region, as well as the
Willamette Valley.
She has played in several
tourneys locally with local as well
as traveling teams helping these
teams gain championship recog
nition.
Scott’s most fulfilling accom
plishm ents came this season
from helping lead her middle
school team to a near perfect
season, posting a season record
o f 10 wins and one loss.
Scott’s style o f play ultimately
caught the eyes o f Michael and
Todd Abraham, during a middle
school and high school basket
ball tourney at Seaside. Michael
and Todd coach a nationally rec
ognized middle school and high
school girls basketball program
called Team Concept For more

fo r their traveling team. She
made the team, extending her
basketball season even further.

Beaverton. M ost o f the high
school level members o f the
traveling team are going on to
Division 1 universities across the
nation. The middle school mem

8^-gradpf. Average height o f
each’player is about 5 feet. Her
team played up to the junior
varsity level»- bypassing the
younger middle school division.
Surprisingly» her team /r af
ter eight hard-fought games
against to p -n b tçh 6 -A \ high
school competition — won an
amazing championship against
Clackamas High School.
Clackamas by the way had
three team members who played
this season in the girls 6-AOSAA
S tate , C h am p ionship game
against, o f course, 'Southridge,
who have been the., girls state
Q SAA 6-A champs, in 2Q063
2006 and again in 2007.
I f that doesn’t say a lot about
the skills these middle schoolers,
have, then you better go see for
yourself. O ne o f the biggest
tourneys o f the year is at O r
egon City High School on June
