P^ge 8 Spily^y Tymoo, Warm Springs, Oregon Shaw Tippett is Doctor of Philosophy Shilo Shaw Tippett from Warm Springs was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Clinical Psychology at Okla homa State University in De cember. Dr. Tippett had earlier earned a Masters of Science degree from OSU in 2004. During college she worked in Shilo Shaw Tippett various hospitals in Oklahoma including the Oklahoma City VA Tahlequah, and the Cherokee Medical Center, the W. W. Nation Indian Hospital in Hastings Indian Hospital in Claremore. She was also invited into the Phi Kappa Phi National Hon ors Society. Tippett is a member of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, and is the daughter of Nat and Mavis Shaw of Warm Springs. She plans to continue working at the Seattle VA Medical Center in Seattle, where she resides with her husband, Greg. Earlynne Squiemphen, CPC, has been awarded the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential after successfully passing the National Certification Examination. Phillip Johnston started working as the new manager of Vehicle Pool in January. But Johnston has been work ing in the Warm Springs com munity for much longer. Prior to beginning his posi tion as manager, Johnston said, he worked for Warm Springs Fire and Safety as the battalion chief for 12 or more years. Before that Johnston worked as a volunteer firefighter for the Jefferson County Fire Depart ment for over 29 years—and he now serves on their board of directors. The transition to Ve hicle Pool, Johnston said, came about because of his back ground in maintenance. “I’d been in maintenance pretty much all my life,” Johnston said—involving every thing from rebuilding motors in cars to repairing trucks and am bulances.
