Spily^y Tyrooo Pdge 5 October 26 Toys-Tools-Housewares-Clothing-Crafts-Gifts- All tribal employees are wel come to join the the annual Halloween Costume Contest. The contest will be from 12 to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at the Community Center Social Hall. There will be prizes in vari ous costume categories, includ ing:: Most Original Homemade Costume; the Most Desperate Housewife from the TV series; the Most Original Masked Mon ster; and the Wackiest Cow Poke in the West. For more information call Carol at 553-3243. The contest is sponsored by the Warm Springs Recreation Department and the Community Center. The Simnasho Halloween Powwow will be at the Simnasho Longhouse on Tuesday evening, Oct. 31. The gathering of goblins is at 5:30 p.m. at the longhouse, followed by trick-or-treating around the loop. For those families living out side the community, if you bring candy, there will be a place where you can hand out the candy to the trick-or-treaters. Potluck dinner at the longhouse begins at 6:30 p.m. At 7:30 there will be games, the costume contest for tiny tots, grade-school, junior and senior high, and adult. There will be some sort of prizes. Goblins go home at 9 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For infor mation contact Bucky Smith, Katie, Elfreda, Mike or Cecilia Collins, or Captain. Volunteers are invited. Trick-or-treaters are in vited to High Lookee Lodge on Halloween night. This is a very exciting time for the resi dents of the lodge. They enjoy the ghosts and goblins. High Lookee usually wind down for the evening around 7:30 p.m. So the Lodge would like the community to know the doors will be open to those who want to come through from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The Mountain View Hos pital Living Center will host the annual trick-or-treat event on Tuesday, Oct. 31, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to come in costume for candy and sur prises in a safe and fun envi ronment. Each year the Living Center residents look forward to this traditional event. The residents see nearly 1,700 visitors come through to trick or treat each year. If you would like to vol unteer to carve pumpkins or sort candy, please contact Dyann Shaver at 475-3882, ext. 2284. Candy donations are also appre ciated. The M id -C olu m bia River Powwow will be Satur day, Oct. 28 at Celilo Village. There will be a mini-powwow and Halloween mask dance. Powwow begins at 2 p.m. There will be a Halloween masquerade dance for youth (after dinner break) and adults (later Satur day evening). On Sunday, Oct. 29, there will be services and meal.
