(AP) - One of two men convicted of stealing ancient American Indian petroglyphs was ordered into federal custody Monday after police found guns and drugs at his home. U.S. District Judge Howard McKibben had allowed John Ligon, 41, Reno, to remain free without bail before he was scheduled to surrender Nov. 10 to begin serving a two-month jail sentence. But federal prosecu tors told the judge Monday that Ligon was a flight risk and a threat to society after a Reno police search found nearly a pound of marijuana, drug para phernalia and at least 30 fire arms, including five stolen guns. "This man is a felon and he's got all these weapons," Assistant U.S. Attorney Ron Rachow said, adding that the Sept. 18 search also turned up a scale, which raises questions about selling drugs. Reportedly, Ligon has been unemployed for 1 1 years, living off a trust fund with a net worth of about $6 million. 36th Annual Cowdeo 2004 October 16, at 6 p.m.; October 17, at I p.m. At the Jefferson County Fair Complex Madras, Oregon - 325-5050 For contestants 5 thru 14 yrs Not eligible: top 5 in PeeWee groups, and Junior Rodeo Association Goat Decorating-PeeWees Horseless calf roping-11 & under Breakaway calf roping-Senior Sheep riding-5 & 6 year, olds Cow Riding Girls & boys barrel racing-Sr., Jr., Peewee Chicken Scramble-3-5 year olds Calf riding-Sr., Jr., or PeeWee Key hole race-Sr., Jr., or PeeWee Admission $3.00 per person AW Around saddle donated by DMJ Automotive Page 7 V
